DROSOS Entrepreneurship Roundtable

IbtikarKhana hosted and co-organized an entrepreneurship roundtable in partnership with Drosos Foundation with the aim of starting a conversation with 15 key social entrepreneurship stakeholders and players in the field. Together they mapped the entrepreneurship sector; identifying opportunities and challenges, sharing experiences and came up with an action plan for future collaboration.


MoSS and IbtikarKhana Partnership

IbtikarKhana established a long-term impactful partnership with the Ministry of Education with an aim of empowering public school children and young changemakers to become change agents in their communities and stir positive change in their communities.
This partnerships goal is to spark a movement to feed and foster the innovative and creative qualities of school children and young adults to encourage them to think out of the box and identify the problems in their communities through exposing them to the concepts of social innovation and creativity and in alignment with their school curricula topics and learning objectives.

Monshaat study for the best global practice in supporting SMEs sustainability IbtikarKhana contributed to Monshaat efforts to make a study to look for the best global practice in supporting SMEs sustainability in parallel to examining the current Saudi Market and implement the best suitable approach and products through experience- sharing and research about the support needed for pre-early and early social entrepreneurs.

The Ministry of Social Solidarity (MoSS), led by H.E. Dr. Nivine El Kabbag, the Minister of Social Solidarity, is the main partner and supporter of IbtikarKhana. The partnership was developed after the first graduation ceremony for IbtikarKhanas Transformative Journey Programs graduates which was organized under the auspices of H.E Dr. Nivine El Kabbag and with her attendance.

The partnership with MoSS includes two main pillars:

(1) The provision of seed-funding for 20 social entrepreneurs who graduated from the Transformative Journey Program
(2) Co-establishing Social Incubation Local Units in Upper Egypts governorates targeted by Decent Life Presidential Initiative with MoSS so IbtikarKhana can replicate its expertise in empowering social entrepreneurs and changemakers with an aim to decentralize knowledge and know-how.

So far, 7 social entrepreneurs have been granted seed-funding from Cairo and Al Gharbia governorates: 2 of them have registered as non-profit foundations, 2 of them have registered as companies, 2 of them are in the process of registering as companies and one of them is in the process of registering as an NGO. To date, these 7 social entrepreneurs managed to impact 3,589 beneficiaries/clients.

Start-up Guide Egypt

IbtikarKhana contributed to the development of the Start-up Guide Egypt which aims at telling stories of startups, and showcasing the work of various players that can inspire new entrepreneurs and achieve more social impact. IbtikarKhana supported the development of the guide through conducting research, mapping the ecosystem and therefore nominating entrepreneurs to be featured in the guide.

Upper Egyptian Professors Study Tour

IbtikarKhana co-organized and co-hosted a study tour for a group of professors from public universities in Upper Egypt (Assuit, Suhag, Qena, New Valley, Luxor, and Aswan) as part of a capacity building economic program which is currently piloted in Suhag. 30 university professors were introduced to the concept of social entrepreneurship and they were given the space to discuss collaboration opportunities.
