Transformative Journey Program

IbtikarKhana’s Transformative Journey Program is a four to six-month training scholarship which enables social entrepreneurs to implement, scale and expand their social ventures. IbtikarKhana offers 15 to 20 scholarships for social entrepreneurs to join the program. Through the program, IbtikarKhana offers capacity building trainings, technical assistance, consultations, mentorship and networking opportunities to its program’s participants. In addition, IbtikarKhana offers seed funding for three winners at the program’s final pitching day.

So far, IbtikarKhana hosted 5 rounds of its Transformative Journey Program. 68 social entrepreneurs from 15 governorates graduated the program. 58% of our graduates registered their ventures legally

How can social entrepreneurs join the program?

1) The applicant must have a creative concrete idea/venture that have demonstrable social impact.
2) The idea/venture should offer a solution to a pressing social problem using a sustainable and innovative approach
3) The idea/venture can be for-profit or non-profit.
4) The applicant should have taken initial steps in implementing his/her idea, even on a small scale.
5) The applicant has an experience in developmental and/or social work.
6) The applicant should be Egyptian and is between 18 to 30 years old. (Males and Females)
7) The applicant should be committed to attending the training and consultation sessions (which will be offline and online)

How can social entrepreneurs join the program?

1) Social entrepreneurs and changemakers are invited to fill this application.
2) IbtikarKhana’s selection committee selects the best applicants according to the selection criteria, those who will be selected will be interviewed individually.
3) The selection committee will inform the shortlisted applicants who passed the interview stage.
4) The first week of trainings will be a probation period.
5) The finalists who passed the probation period will join the training program.

IbtikarKhana’s trainers are renowned global and regional experts in their fields and their expertise includes everything from business plans, marketing strategies, sector mappings, needs assessments, financial management strategies, problem analysis and more.
- Constant mentorship where IbtikarKhana’s mentors accompany young entrepreneurs and provide them with the needed skills, knowledge, tools and mindset to develop their business plans and venture in a realistic feasible way.
- Networking opportunities with different stakeholders where social entrepreneurs learn and start developing business relationships and to recognize, create, or act upon business opportunities, share information and seek potential partners for ventures.
- Opportunities to meet top leading social entrepreneurs and role models so that they can transfer their knowledge to the young social entrepreneurs.
- Media coverage for the young entrepreneurs’ ideas and ventures throughout their journey with IbtikarKhana.
- Celebrating the success of the young social entrepreneurship by the end of the journey through providing them the opportunity to pitch their ideas in front of the key players in the social entrepreneurship sector, different stakeholders, policy makers, investors, donors and media.
- Seed-funds will be granted to the top three winners at the final pitching competition under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity
- Alumni services including regular mentorship and discounted rates for some of IbtikarKhana’s services.
